Cooking

This model uniquely incorporates a stove element which harnesses any excess power for cooking and heating water. This cooking element makes use of the power which is normally wasted when excess power is dumped during regulation via an air element.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Adaptable

The Platypus Power unit is capable of high flows through a single nozzle. The single nozzle is easily changeable to suit seasonal flows, maintaining maximum output. All platypus units are compact with no bulky water manifold [/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Low Maintenance

The M1/125 uses larger bearings that are easy to source. The generators are very robust. Solid cast bars replace the rotor winding and enable the rotor to withstand considerable overspeed. In addition they are totally enclosed, ensuring good protection against dirt and water. They are designed for continuous operations under industrial conditions. Runaway speed is hydraulically limited. The turbine casing is made of corrosion resistant cast aluminium and the runner is stainless steel.

Mounting

An aluminium casing “skirt” extends below floor level, which seals water out of the turbine shed. It does not require bolting down, allowing easy access to the nozzle for cleaning. It is quick to install and the design baffles noise.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Connection

The M1/125 water inlet is via a standard table D 2 inch flange. It is a quick and easy connection with no nozzle aiming required. The unique Platypus Power Advanced Regulator protects your turbine – controlling the speed of the generator to keep the voltage stable. The turbine pricing includes the electronic control unit and dump element to keep the generator constantly at full load.

The regulator automatically diverts and dissipates unused energy through the stove element. Automatic shut down through the control board protects connected electrical equipment and the generator from over-voltage.
